Quick Facts
Emery is a community that was founded 1881 and was known for
its unique "county banks" coal mines where citizens mined their
own claims and trucked their own coal to market. Emery was named in honor of George Emery of Tennessee who was
appointed Governor of the Utah Territory in 1875.
