Book Spotlight
The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles.

This is a historical novel that gives another brief look of how people survived and lived thru World War II and how those shared memories can help someone young and struggling thru today's challenges. Lily is the young teenager in Montana I 1983 who finds friendship and belonging with an elderly neighbor. Odile is Lily's neighbor. In Paris in 1939 Odile and other librarians form close bonds with each other. They work very hard to save the books and the peoples' right to be able to read thru a time of war and fire. This is a story of their courage to deliver books to the lonely, the wounded, the prisoners in life and death conditions, one of which was her twin brother, and those being punished because they were Jews or other national. This is a story of extraordinary acts of courage and of love and belonging and survival and the preservation of a library and its reading friends.
